Just to catch up, we went to Portland and hung out for a while in the city while Chuck went to hang out at the hospital and talk with current fellows about what they thought about the program there. So while he was there, Aaron and I went to the zoo. I love zoos. I guess in my older age, I'm starting to feel bad for the animals that don't look like they are enjoying themselves in captivity, but at least they're not being poached in the wild.

After the zoo we went around town, walked around a mall and got lunch. Workers there probably thought I was nuts because we walked around and around (it's a fairly small circle) about 15 times, but I was waiting for Aaron to fall asleep. He finally fell asleep so I wanted to get some coffee and sit to read a book. I was TIRED!!!! Well, I went to Starbucks and asked where the Nordstrom Rack was and she said right across the street from the Borders. PERFECT. Too bad I'd already gotten Starbucks (they sell Seattle's Best. Is it bad I know this? I just really like book stores). Oh well, they'd have to kick me out if they didn't want a Starbucks cup in there. So we headed to Borders so I could read and Aaron could nap. Sweet baby.

By the way, I'm reading, or attempting to read, Pride and Prejudice. Let me just say, that people that wrote books then were amazing. Think of all the resources we have now, computers, thesauruses. I practically need a thesaurus just to read the book, it's practically a different language! But it's kind of refreshing. I've never read a book like this, unless you count Great Expectations by Charles Dickens or the Odyssey. Those were kind of tough. But that was in school and the teachers were either reading it to you or at least helping you understand. I'm a slow reader anyway. But I just take my time and soak it up. Plus, the great thing is that each chapter is only a few pages long. So when my brain gets tired, I take a break.
Otherwise, Aaron got some new tennis shoes. He LOVES them!!!! We talked with my parents and sister on Friday night and he kept saying "shoes" and lifting his foot up to show them. It was too cute. Here are the infamous shoes. Sorry they're not on him, he's napping and I wanted to write this blog entry while I had a chance.

Poor kid has been sick as a dog!! We started up the vaporizer for the last couple of days but that didn't seem to work so I broke out the humidifier and he's SO much better this morning, but I wanted him to still get a bit of quiet time this morning in addition to his regular afternoon nap. He's up. He's started this whole screaming thing to get my attention. NOT attractive.
Oh, yeah, the other thing is we're gonna have another baby. Now before you get all excited, we don't even know if were going to find out what it is before it arrives. Old school...if we have the patience to wait it out...we'll see. I'm only 7.5 weeks. Just wanted to let you all know!!

Try "Jane Eyre" next. It's my absolute fav.
Yeah, I tried that on my own in high school. I don't think I got past page 5.
