Christmas!!!

YAY!! Christmas has come, and gone! I still get excited about Christmas and opening gifts and such. And to add a kid to the mix is even better because you just don't know what's going to happen. But let me fill in some time between when my family left and Christmas came.
On the way to the airport with my family Chuck called to let me know Aaron figured out how to climb on the kitchen chairs and do this:

Lovely.
Now that he knows how to do this, it's difficult to make him understand that even though we are laughing, it's not appropriate!
I think it's also funny that he has somehow figured out the "vroom!!!!" sound that goes with a motorcycle.

Last Sunday we went to Miss Nonee's and Mr. Ken's to get a special gift.

He is absolutely terrified of it. I haven't been mean enough to play it and take a video of him, but it's quite funny. Hopefully he'll love it next year, I'm sure that will be the case and we'll get tired of hearing him sing "we wish you a merry christmas".
That night we laid around the couch and watched Ice Age: The Meltdown on tv. He was actually interested in it. He doesn't lay like this with us ever!! It was nice!

Tuesday Chuck was off and we went to go get some parts for him to fix the motorcycle after he wrecked it. Aaron wanted to help him!

And sometimes Aaron climbs into the kennels. Well, this night Copper was in there first and then Aaron climbed in with her and then Skeet wanted to join the party. No one suspected that Chuck would close and latch the door!!

Time for Christmas! I thought I would tackle trying to make cinnamon rolls from scratch. I've been on this website, The Pioneer Woman, and she has a recipe for them there, but then I decided to google the Cinnabon recipe. There was a clone of it on allrecipes.com, so I decided to try that one. There was a lot of prep time involved so I started the dough before we left for Christmas Eve service at church so it would be done rising for the hour (in the bread machine) and I could make them when we got home. We were gone for about 3 hours because we went to Nonee and Ken's home with their family for food and such. By the time we got home, this is what I found:
It was actually touching the top and lifting up the lid when I found it. By the time I got a picture of it I'd lifted the lid.

It had succumbed to my beating it!

You'll see pics of the finished product later.
Our Christmas tree Christmas morning

Our family (sorry, kinda cut the dogs off)

The first gift

We let him help us open ours as well. It was entertaining to watch him! But he could never find where the seam of the paper was so he could tear it open.

The dogs were getting in the way, too interested in what Aaron was getting, so we gave them their gift, bones of course!!

Obviously it helped for a whole 30 seconds. Skeet was back in the pictures...

Aaron LOVED his lawn mower (it blows bubbles and makes a sound like a lawn mower).

So much...

He didn't want to open anymore gifts!

He got over it.

And he wanted to climb into my Amazon box that my new ESPRESSO MACHINE came in!!!

And this was the aftermath...

And here is the aftermath of the cinnamon rolls

Mmmmmmmmmm...so good!
And this is what our garage looks like

I don't think those will all fit in our recycling bin tomorrow. Oh well!

Then we went to our Pastor's house with his family. There were a ton of people there! I'm used to a bunch of girls running around and being girly rambunctious, but the house was filled with boys! It was definitely something I've never really experienced.
This is our friend Tonya with Aaron. He was trying to drink out of her water bottle, it has a lid on it. Then she got to witness the wrath of Aaron when he's tired, he yelled and screamed when we tried to take it away so we could go home. Yikes!

He was asleep within about 5 minutes of us leaving their house

We had a great Christmas and we hope all of you did as well!!!
At the end here are some Christmas videos, mainly for the grandparents and Noah. Enjoy!
Okay, tired of waiting, here's the first 4

I love that you took pics of him on the kitchen table (ha!. It is so funny you wanted to make cinn buns from scratch - I had the same intentions but Bryan brought home a pop-can of them and said here this will be so much easier and I went with it! Way to go on the homemade!!!
