Since we've been back

Nothing much has been going on. Currently Aaron is sick and Chuck is on night float so basically it's nothing like normal around here. I just got an official Federal Tax ID number so I'm one step closer to being a business owner. Here's a couple other things we've been up to.

We have a cat problem. There's a small space right next to our front door that just has dirt in it. Well, our neighborhood is riddled with cats at night that wonder around. They like to use that little space as their own personal litter box. So this is what I did:

Hasn't worked yet. We've had some collateral damage (a bird) but otherwise, this morning a cat was successful at using it. Grrrrr...I don't want to kill them, but I'm not sure what else to do. Next spring I want to put greenery there so I don't have to keep planting flowers and some river rock, but I don't want to do that right now. Maybe I'll have to. I called animal control and they said I had to rent (or buy) a live trap and then when/if I actually caught one, I had to pay $15 to turn it in. I almost asked her what keeps people from just shooting them but held my tongue. She probably would have asked where I live. They take violence against animals here VERY seriously. I don't blame them, and I don't want to kill them but golly gee, they STINK UP MY FRONT YARD!!! She asked me how I knew it was a cat. If I would have been thinking properly, I would have said "DUH, lady!!! What other animal craps and covers it up!?!?!"

Anyway, doesn't this one just look pathetic??

And here they are reading together...he's been very lovey lately...and a Daddy's boy.

So, otherwise, I'm getting ready to shoot a wedding on Saturday. That's photography talk for take some pics at someone's wedding. I've had quite a few sessions lately and getting ready for 4 more in the next week! Then I have one set up to cover a guy coming home from the Middle East mid month. Things are picking up! If you don't have it, here's my photography blog address: Fly a Kite Photography. I'm getting ready to actually get a business license in the next couple of weeks and then an actual website! Ready or not, here I come! Also, search for Fly a Kite Photography on Facebook, become my fan!!

They make a spray that is supposed to discourage animals (I think it is the smell) http://www.pet-shop.net/html/crepel.html

I don't know anything about cats but I was thinking would mulch be less appealing than the dirt? One of our neighbor's outside cats followed us home from a walk today and was driving me NUTS! Dogs rule!! :)
