Monday we took a little road trip to MU so Andrea could be interviewed at the VA for a position, which turned out to be TWO possible positions. I'm excited about this because when she gets accepted and if she decides to take it, that means every time I go home (which would have been 6 times in the last year) I get to see her. This makes me VERY happy!!! So I took the opportunity to take some pics.
Here he is visiting Miss Dude:
And at the columns:

It was a nice day, very sunny and warm. I sweated my butt off!!!
The new car seat does not make sleep very comfortable:
That night we had dinner with "GG". She is the only GG left in our family...sad.
Tuesday we went to the zoo. I love the zoo and I couldn't wait to take Aaron. I made sure with Chuck first that I could take him while he was not there (we didn't have time after Chuck got to St. Louis) and he gave the go-ahead. Good thing, 'cause I would have taken him anyway. He already told me I couldn't take him to a Cards game without him, so that was out!
Aaron and Eleanor meeting for the first time:
Aaron looking at the fish in the Hippo exhibit. For some reason the hippos weren't out:(
We got to see quite a few trains go by, Aaron loved that, I think...

Then we got to see the elephants. Aaron has quite a few elephants in his life, and here's just a couple more!

This one had an interesting story: the zookeepers found out she was pregnant along with a couple other elephants at the same time. They were excited, brace yourself, until the other two were born and the one from this mom was not. The baby is no longer living. However, her body keeps the baby and eventually she will expell the fetus. Elephants are pregnant for 22 months (I would DIE) and they found out around 25 months (they don't do ultrasounds on elephants) and she's been carrying it for a almost a year!! So the baby's been in there for almost THREE years!! Poor thing, I wonder if she knows, like a mother's instinct? Hmmm...
Moving on, here's the two babies that were born!

Here's Grandma with Aaron right before he's getting cranky...it's nap time!

The babies again, how cute are they?!?! That's one of the moms in the background.

They added a new stingray exhibit for the next three summers:
And he finally conked out!
But he woke up for the penguins. I heard they were going to start charging for this exhibit!!!

Riley really wanted to hold Aaron. I think they're ready for a human addition, Meghan!!
Well, I think that's it for now. I've spent most of the day out and about and now I just spent an hour on the computer. More tomorrow!
