What a last couple of weeks!

Sorry I haven't posted in so long! I know I posted briefly about falling down the stairs. Well, the week quickly went downhill from there. Friday morning Aaron was playing with his Mickey plane and fell over it and hit the corner of the coffee table right below his eye, poor guy!

This is the next day:

And this was Tuesday:

It's getting better. It only bothered him for about 20 minutes with me touching it, of course. But he cried for about 2 seconds and that was it. Well, I decided to go over to a neighbors house because she has FOUR boys and thought she'd probably been through this before and could tell me if any further action needed to be taken and of course she said no. But she talked me into working out with her. I used to work out with her a number of months ago but stopped because of scheduling issues with Aaron and such. But I decided that Aaron needed to go down for his nap anyway, so I took him back to the house, laid him down, grabbed the monitor and headed out the door. It was a good workout! I got home and instead of taking a shower like I would have normally done, I decided to fix an early lunch and then take a shower. For some crazy reason I decided to fix Ramen. Now, I don't know why I would have decided to replenish and add to the amount of sodium I just worked out, but that's what I wanted. I put it in a big mug and sat down on the couch to watch some Gilmore Girls, decided to put my hand through the handle and OH, PETER, PAUL AND MARY, I SPILLED THE WHOLE BOILING MUG OF RAMEN ON MYSELF!!!!! I can't tell you how much it hurt because it's still hurting a week later. I burned the ever living crap out of myself. Long story short, we ended up going into the hospital to see my doc (not the ER) and waited at the pharmacy for an hour and a half for pain meds and ointment to put on it when it started peeling. THAT was fun! Friday night was okay, Saturday was fine, Sunday was fine. I was starting to think that it wasn't going to be a big deal. Sunday night Aaron popped on of the blisters so I took care of that and Monday it was feeling okay. I toss and turn while I sleep and it woke me up a couple times Monday night so I knew Tuesday morning it was going to be a bad story. I got up and realized my other blister had popped and, well, let's just say Tuesday was a bad day, I thought I was going to die. So, I have an area on my leg that is about the size of my hand that is peeling. I DO have pictures, but I'd like to keep this blog as G-rated as possible. Trust me, it's gross! It's feeling better. And I have one week to get it feeling even better before we go camping. I was so frustrated with myself and still am. Thank goodness it's not going to show below the two bridesmaid dresses I have to wear in less than a month!!!!

Here are some pictures from Mother's Day:

Miss Nonee decided to give Aaron some ice cream.

By the way, that wheelchair is NOT for me, it was for her sister.
This week I tried to give Aaron a big boy cup. They say around 12 months is when you should wean them off the bottle. He didn't like it so much. That's okay, we have time!

Aaron also decided getting into his diaper bag and pulling everything out was a great idea. That's okay, it kept him busy for about 15 minutes.

And he's moving up in the world, eating strawberries and bananas.

And this is Aaron at our bible study on Thursday. I was trying to get a picture of the cereal on his cheek but then somehow it moved to his chin and he was upset about something at the same exact time I took the picture. Oh well. I thought it was funny!

Aaron also got his one year check up on Friday. Last picture with his doctor!! She'll be going to Missouri next (she's from KC). We will miss her terribly!
And this was Daddy and Aaron doing some yard work last night. I've done this once, but he kept leaning to one side for me. They got it all done!!

Some great pics, Dawn! He will get the hang of a big boy cup, don't worry and there will be more bumps and bruises to come, no doubt. You are doing a great job of being Aaron's Mommy! Really love Chuck and Aaron doing the lawn together...maybe I should show Kyle those pics so he knows how yard work is supposed to be done...ha ha!
See ya tomorrow!

PS I think Aaron looks just like your grandma in the picture of him on the airplane.
