this so called "stimulus package"? Not the last one, the current one. Yes, there's going to be another one! Did the last one work? No, not really. I was against the first one as well. I remember telling some of the girls at work how I didn't think that $600 per working person wasn't going to do anything. They asked me, "you mean you can't use the $600?" I said sure I can, but what's $600 going to do for me? Not a whole lot in the grand scheme of things, like someone loosing their house. that's not even one house payment! So $1000 isn't going to do that much more.
However, I'm not angry about the money they are doling out to the public, I'm angry about what they are allocating monies to! $25 mil for ATVs? $325 mil for STD prevention?? $600 mil for government vehicles??? How are these things supposed to stimulate anything?!?! And the fact the government is going to give money to banks so they can loan out more to people that probably can't afford it? Isn't that what they did before but didn't give them money to do so, they just told the banks to loan out money? It's only going to make things worse. I'm thinking the whole reason this started was because people finally got the drift they are spending too much money willy nilly and then stores where the money was going weren't making the profits they were and then the tax income went down for the government and they freaked out. I think it's a big fat circle of death and eventually we're all going to get sucked into a black hole. Enough ranting!!!
I don't use this blog for this reason, normally, but this has really got me thinking. People who read this, I hope you have Jesus! And if you don't, get Him, because it's only going to get worse. God didn't make the world to last forever, or us for that matter. CO2 is a greenhouse gas; stop breathing, please. Or stop having kids. The world has become so corrupted that the line between TRUTH and false teachers has been skewed for the average person. This is the TRUTH: When God is tired of waiting for people to repent (he doesn't want ANY of us to go to hell), he's going to take action. And it's not going to be pretty!
I'm sorry for that, I'm just scared for Aaron and what he is going to have to deal with when he gets older, if he has the chance. It makes me very scared. In fact, for a long time I didn't want to have kids and over the last few years, before Aaron, it was because of how Earth and all of its inhabitants are headed in a downward spiral and we're never going to fully get out of it until He comes back. Very scary!!
Anyway, until that happens, Aaron is well on his way to learning to crawl. The only way we can get him to move forward, as opposed to spinning in a circle, is to put some of his colored balls from one of his Christmas toys in front of him. He doesn't go for anything else. Maybe because they are so colorful! I think I should start video taping him when we have tummy time so I can get his first crawl on video. Hopefully you'll see that soon!!!

Yes, I'm angry. But more than anything, I think I'm resigned. Resigned to getting up each morning to see how corrupt, and how unthinking our government is. Let's see...in the last two-three weeks, we've approved money to kill babies overseas. We've supported efforts to do away with abortion restrictions in our own country (anyone afraid of God's wrath anymore?), we've talked about paying taxes as our duty and the patriotic thing to do--but HOW MANY Obama appointees have failed to pay their taxes? And one of them has been put in charge of the US Treasury and the IRS!!! (This is the "change" we voted for).
We've declared that Gitmo will be closed in the name of upholding prisoner rights. However, a little known fact is that Obama has signed onto continuing the policy of RENDITION where the prisoners can be returned to their home countries to be TORTURED. At Gitmo, they just got fat and are given everything they need. Three (out of how many hundred) were said to have been waterboarded. If tried and found not guilty, and if their home countries don't want them, they can STAY in the U.S. if they are brought onto our soil. Boy, I want them at Ft. Leavenworth! Then they can be let out onto the streets of KC when Yemen or Qatar or Saudi Arabia don't want them back!
Have you heard (according to the AP) that the Obama administration has been told not to use the phrase "War on Terror" anymore? Yes! It's too harsh!
Let's spend our way into oblivion. Gee, most people know that when you have financial troubles, you pay your bills, and hang on to your money. Is that too hard for the government to understand? (You don't go out and rack up all the credit you can get--much less print money). If people can't afford something, they shouldn't buy it. Hmmm...novel idea. All of this is total insanity. But we were "taken in" by "Change!" "Hope!" and "Yes, we can!"
But yes, I too, am resigned. I know God is in charge. I know the world is winding down to the finish--and not because man in his mere mortal stance can destroy it with CO2. What blasphemy! God outlines in the Bible how He will destroy it himself in His own timing as you said. The gathering of Israel (1948) is the last required event in God's Word before the prophecy of the Tribulation to come. You said it--WE ALL NEED JESUS!!! Only true believers will be saved from the coming wrath. Teach your children well. Lead them to Christ. Pray for those who are not saved. Be bold for Christ! What joy my mother's heart holds to have her children all belong to Him. I know you will lead little Aaron to Christ someday, and on that day the hosts of heaven will rejoice! You know I pray for him! Stay true to God's Word. I KNOW that my Redeemer lives!!
(A little rant of my own). :)
Well, I'm not one to say that it was/is completely this administration. I was against the last "stimulus" package and that didn't work, just like I thought it wouldn't. And I was and still am getting sick and tired of everyone in the government saying that it's CEOs and wall street that has lead us down this path. What a load of crap! I can't say that loud enough! WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!! It's the greedy American people that have lead this country into its state of emergency. The government officials just don't want to blame it on their constituents because of the wrath they might face. But I say stand up to those stupid Americans government officials!! I find it funny that people don't have enough to pay their bills or pay their mortgage or buy groceries or have health insurance but they have cell phones, and the latest clothes, and a nice car (or 4), and they're smoking and they shop at Nordstrom instead of Walmart or they go buy their kids a Wii or a new puppy that both require up keep (new games or food) and...I could go on and on. What happened to saving your money? I am just as bad when I say I'm not going to spend any money for a week and then I go to Walmart down the street. But I'm not spending my family into a hole. I know holes are tough to get out of but come on!! Ever heard of free will?
I don't think that's it's just the new government that has been elected (not that I agree with everything they're doing) but it's been a long time coming, the state we're in. I'll personally write to any government official that publicly states that it's because of our greed that our financial lives are in such dismay. And it's only going to get worse until people take responsibility of their own actions (AMERICANS!!!).
Yay! I LOVE to read your thoughts on this, Dawn, really! I think you're right on about the personal responsibility stuff. People are greedy and make bad decisions with money, and that's what's gotten us in to this mess. The world is not just now beginning its downward spiral- sin and corruption have been around since the Garden of Eden. So I'm glad you decided to go ahead and have kids anyway. Aaron sure is cute :)
I just like to read what you think about this, and I like to know that you think about it at all. It helps me know you better, and I like knowing you!
I'm sorry you weren't trying to make me laugh but I have to tell you I was laughing out loud. Because I can just hear you as I read this. I too am anti-sending checks to every household. What a joke. I too get fiesty every time I hear "bailout". We are very carefully living within our means thank you very much why should I pay for other people's nicer homes? I know that's over simplified but really, it's quite frustrating.
Angie-Good, that was kind of my point, to make people laugh. I don't like to be taken too seriously! I've become a very animated frustration venter, you should have seen me the day I went to the post and tried to go to the gym, TWICE, and they childcare was full both times with a waiting list. I was very frustrated I'm surprised I didn't hit myself in the face!
