Our first National Park was Glacier. It was beautiful.
And Yoho National Park:
Emerald Lake
Natural Bridge
And just some scenes through Yoho.
We walked to a super high waterfall: Takakkaw Falls
I only took my point and shoot to the falls but thank goodness for the super awesome zoom. I was able to capture a mountain goat!
Here's the falls. This actually doesn't do it justice. There's a little part of the falls that hits another layer of rock and SHOOTS out with such force, it's incredible.
Here's the river the falls creates:
Aaron and Chuck decided to have a contest to see who could keep their hand in the FREEZING COLD RIVER the longest.
Here's a better picture to show you how it shoots out.
Then they decided to play on the river.
Te drive to and from the falls was very scenic.
Take a look at this road we had to take to the falls. There was a sign saying that the switchbacks were tight and the book said that buses had to make 3-pt turns. No one could take their trailers. This is why:
Even we had to make a 3-or turn to get around this pin, even at the widest.
Then there was a confluence where the Yoho and Kicking Horse Rivers met. We couldn't get a very good view...
And then one more thing, the spiral tunnel. The pass where the rain went wasn't too far but it was very steep. So they had to put in these spiral tunnel for the trains to use. They spiral through two tunnels. For us, this stop was anticlimactic because there were no trains at this time and we were trying to get to our stop for the night. But here's a picture of the upper tunnel anyway.
