SO excited!!!

We have been staying in a lot around the house lately.  I normally try to get out as much as we can.  It was much easier before Delaney showed up, but it's a little harder now, and heavier.  Aaron tends to get jealous that I'm even holding Delaney's car seat.  Well, as I said I've been on this cleaning kick lately, so except for a occasional trip to Walmart (a couple miles down the road) or a walk down to Safeway, we've been in, cleaning.

I needed to get out today.  I don't know what it was, maybe the SuperWhy! and Dinosaur Train (no more Mickey Mouse, we canceled cable), but needed to GO!  It was cloudy but not raining, yet.  I made some calls around to friends with kids, made some plans, got 2 miles from the park and it starts raining and I can't tell if it's going to stop or not.  But it is very cloudy and even if it did stop, everything was WET.  Sliding down a wet slide equals a wet butt.  And probably more.  So I called my friend and told her not to bother leaving because we weren't staying.  I let Aaron slide a couple times but that was it.  We HAD to do something fun because I promised Aaron we were going to play.  We ended up at McDonalds with a big playplace.  Whatever, no one was there yet, which was nice because there weren't other kids pushing Aaron around and making things much noisier than I'd like.

We drove home, I stopped for the mail, and then I remembered...my lens was supposed to come today.  My heart sank.  They don't just drop $1600 items off at your door, you've got to sign for it.  I totally forgot that it was coming today!  I was so sad.  I called UPS to make a time for me to drive all the way to Tumwater this afternoon (45 minutes) to pick it up.  I just couldn't wait for Monday!  When you call UPS to do that, they call you within an hour to make arrangements.  She called and said that she spoke with the driver, he was still in town and if I was at home, he could swing by again.  WHAT?!?!  YES!!!  PLEASE!!!!

He just dropped it off about 10 minutes ago and I took pictures just so you could enjoy me unwrapping it as I did.

The box was HUGE!  Look at the baby monitor to the right of the box.  It's dwarfed!

All neatly wrapped in plastic.

It's got its own carrying case with a strap!  And its own manual.

The lens IS in there, it's just all wrapped up in bubble wrap.

Ugh!  Look at that monster!  And that HOOD!  It even has its own tripod mount!

Here's the whole kit and caboodle.

Here it is all stretched out.

Ah, I can't wait to try it out!

The OTHER thing I got in the mail today was a new GPS.  It's not a normal GPS, it's a trainer with heart rate monitor, tracking, etc.  Pretty cool.  Dad won a 405 (I got the 305) from work.  I tried to convince him that he needed to give it to me, take pity on me since my bike WITH my computer on it was stolen, but he didn't fall for that.  Stinker.  But I got this one and from what I've read, it's pretty much just as good, just half the price.

I haven't even gotten it out of the box.

And here are some more pictures of Aaron from Wednesday on the driveway.  What's a post without some pictures of Aaron?

And one of last night, ALL of his Legos stacked on top of each other.  Taller than him!!

Cool lens. I like the way you put the cars across the driveway to protect Aaron and let him have the whole driveway to play in.

Wowsers!!! Is that a telescope you bought or a camera lens?!?!? My favorite is the pic of Chuck, Aaron, and the "Tower of Legos". :)
