A week of quiet

This was a while ago now, but I thought I would share some pictures from Aaron and Chuck's adventures. When we were considering a fellowship, Aaron and I were going to accompany Chuck on his interviews to Denver and St. Louis. However, Aaron and I took a trip home in February so we didn't have the funds to purchase another airline ticket for the interview trip. At the last minute (literally), we decided that Aaron would accompany Chuck alone and I would get some alone time. It's easy to do this when you have a child small enough you don't have to purchase a ticket for them. So Easter Sunday morning I drove my two boys to the airport to be on their way to Denver.
Monday morning Chuck had his interviews all day at the hospitals and Aaron spent the day with one of Chip's college friends (Chip is Chuck's brother). It worked out well, they had a nice time (I think), and I only called once around lunch time to see how things were going. Aaron and Amy went to the zoo and to McDonald's and then back to her apartment for a nap. He didn't take his normal 3 hour snooze but he got a bit of a nap in. Chuck was a bit later than he expected but when he went to pick him up they hadn't killed each other yet. Good thing!
The next morning they both got up at O'dark:30 to make a flight to Kansas City at 6am! Soon after they got to Kansas City they went to Mimi and Papa's house for a short time (I think) and then went to eat BBQ before Chuck had to make his way to St. Louis for his interviews. Aaron was staying with Mimi and Papa for the 48 hours while Chuck was gone. On his way back to Kansas City, Chuck made a stop in Fulton to meet Levi for the very first time and have lunch with Kami and Preston's family. He'd never even seen their house! They've lived there for almost 2 years!


When they were done with lunch, Chuck and Noah packed up in the car and made their way back to Kansas City so Noah and Aaron could have some cousin time. This was Thursday. On Friday everyone went to a petting zoo in Kansas. Here are some photos from that.

Well, that's all I have for this trip. Sorry there's not much commentary (or maybe not), since I wasn't there, I can't really narrate!

Well, I published this post and then I realized I didn't write about what I did all week. I didn't do a whole lot of important stuff...
Sunday I got to go to the church plant my church is involved with because I didn't get to go to Easter service that morning since I was at the airport. Then I went out for dinner afterward with some great friends.
I got to do some much needed cleaning, I cleaned Aaron's room and the blue room from top to bottom, dusted, cleaned the ceiling fans, etc. The only thing I didn't get done in those rooms is a big bin of stuff I need to go through someday.
Thursday I got to go to bible study and then have a fabulous lunch at The Cheesecake Factory and then pedicures. It was awesome! Lots of laughs and good times with a friend who is now moved to California...
Friday I got to go to Tacoma and have lunch (Jimmy John's) with my old coworkers. It was so nice to see them again, I think it's been over a year since I've seen them all.
That was about it. I went to Starbucks a couple times to sit, drink coffee (half decaf) and do my long awaiting bible study. I also got to go to the gym in the middle of the day. That was nice. Nice and relaxing, I wasn't lonely, just felt like something was missing...it was Aaron (and Chuck). Then they came back on Saturday. I have to admit, it was a nice week off.
