So, just for an update, I'm writing this post on my laptop...I know, tear. I don't want to talk about it.
A couple weeks ago we went to Missouri, again. It was the third time for Aaron in 2 months. He is quite the world traveler, which we already knew. We got in really late in St. Louis, but practically the first thing we did the next day was give Aaron a haircut!! You can still see the kid's scalp but his hair grows super fast! So Grandpa geared up to give Aaron his first haircut in an official barber chair with the little kid attachment. I can't even tell you how many times I got my hair cut on that same set-up...ah, the memories.
Dad thought he'd put the cape on him, I told him fat chance Aaron would let him, so we nixed it pretty quick.
Ants in your pants?
We had to distract him, so we gave him a comb (I think it's actually a dog brush you put on your finger, but Dad uses it for humans) to brush Grandma's hair.
Then, of course, there was the brush!
Take a look at this duck! Holy smokes!!!
Friday we went to the zoo and met Kami, Preston and the boys there. They drove all the way from Fulton, it was so nice to see them and let the boys spend time together. We went early enough to go to the children's zoo for free. I haven't been to that part in a long time.
Our first stop was the goats. He enjoyed the goats at the petting zoo in Kansas, so I figured he's like these, they're goats, whatever. But no, I think the draw before was that he could feed them. You used to be able to feed these, back in the day, but I guess no more. Only petting, and brushing. But the boys, at least Aaron, were only interested in running around the rock mountain in the middle. So we moved on.
Then the otters. I like otters, I think they're cute, but these otters are pretty cute, too.
Then we found some frogs before we went inside to see other animals.
Aaron liked to watch the zoo keepers prepare food for the animals.
I'm not sure what was in there...
Then there were guinea pigs. He was so gentle!
He wanted to keep playing with this kitchen set up, but we weren't there to see this!!!
Then there was the Jeep...I practically had to rip him away from it.
Just a couple more from the zoo.
We ended up leaving the zoo a little ahead of when we planned because it started raining. So we decided to leave and hit up Jimmy Johns (my favorite, of course) and then go to the Science Center. Aaron had never been there before and it's been a while for me, so I was all about it!
Aaron was obsessed with this:
There's balls that go along the tracks all over the ceiling. He probably could have watched it all day.
Aunt Kami and Aaron
Good Lord, more computers...had to rip him away from these, too.
See? He almost ran into that post.
And the famous bridge over I-40
Too cute!
And then airplanes, which he's obsessed with now as well. It was a very small McDonnell Douglas exhibit, but he could have spent an hour in there.
Then there was this really cool elevator that was open all the time. It was actually an elevator, but only worked for people that had a special key (they worked there). Lots of buttons, which boys (young and old) LOVE!
Back on the bridge making our way to the entrance
How cute is this kid?! Super cute!
Well, I think that's enough for now. I have more, because I've really only covered two days. But it's late and I'm tired from a long, productive day. I'll try to post again tomorrow!
