Last week we went over to a friend's house so Aaron could play with her boys and then the next day I went to watch the boys so she could do some kid-free errands. Aaron and Ryne got to play with each other for a while and the older kid, Kade, slept the WHOLE time!!!

Chuck is leaving for DC in less than a week and really wanted to go for a motorcycle ride. So I procured a babysitter (babysitters, Jess and Karie) so we could go for the whole day. We decided to go to Mt. St. Helens, the other side! It was a long drive but very pretty and much more comfortable than last time to Mt. Rainier, Chuck moved his case back farther so we had more room in the front. Here are a couple pics from the day!
Mt. St. Helens and Spirit Lake

If you look on the ridge, that's Johnston Ridge where people normally go. They have a movies and exhibits and such. It's pretty cool. It looks much farther from the volcano from where we are than it does when you are actually at the observatory!

This is Spirit Lake again. Those are logs floating in the lake from the blast.

Us and the volcano from the top of a hill (I'll show you the hill later).

We thought this was funny!

More of the volcano.

This is the hill we climbed to get some pics.

This is Mt. Adams. There is video someone took of the blast from the top of Adams. It's GREAT footage!! Absolutely amazing!

A couple years ago in the fall there were HUGE rain storms that lasted days. There were tons of mudslides on Rainier and apparently here (we're assuming that's what happened). Pretty crazy. There are still roads closed on Rainier because of slides that happened a couple years ago.

Well, that was about it. We are preparing for Chuck to leave this Sunday and Aaron and I will be without him for a week and a half, then we take a trip out there. I'm excited to meet up with old clients and friends. One of our friends from med school is having a baby in November, can't wait to see her! Then we come back and it will be a week until he comes back.
Thanks for reading!
Update: I have added a few new blogs to read and have a total of 109 posts to read!! Yikes!
