Post 100

Yeah! I've reached 100 posts!

Sorry it's taken me so long. I have really taken any pics of Aaron and I guess I've been equating that with not having to update the blog. Bubba is growing more and more. He is almost 8 months old, can you believe it?! It's crazy and I can't believe I haven't worked in 8 months.

One thing I had to write about is what new moms do...are you moms ever surprised at the things you will do for your kid? Do you ever start doing something for him/her and then you look back on it and think "how embarrassing?" How about if you did that thing is public? Geeze! I guess we will go to great lengths. Last weekend I was helping throw a baby shower for a new friend at church and Chuck bailed on me to go to a sports show and left Aaron with me. That's okay, I'll get him back:) I had to go to Costco and pick up the cake and then I had this great idea to print out a picture of the baby that I took and so then I had to go to Target and get a frame for it. So, of course, I am running behind, plus I left the house 20 minutes late and I had to fill up with gas. A day in the life, huh? Well, on the way to Costco Aaron just wasn't happy, so for about 15 minutes, which seems like 15 hours, I sang "the wheels on the bus." I'm sure people looking at me from their cars thought I was crazy, singing, but it they only knew what I was thinking...they'd probably commit me! But then again, if they are parents, they probably understand because they've been there before. What kinds of crazy things have you done for your kid??

Oh yeah -- the singing in the car thing is major! Just last weekend, I sang all the way home from Lee's Summit in the car myself trying to keep Noah awake -- so he would take a nap when we got home. I knew if he fell asleep in the car for a few short minutes, that that would be the end of the nap. SO, how selfish is that! BUT, it sure brought back memories of doing this as a mom many, many times. How about playing airplane with the spoon to get them to eat their vegetables? Or playing smoochie monster just to steal a kiss?

What do you mean you haven't worked in 8 months? You have been working harder than you ever have and you are less caught up on your housework or scrapbooking, than you ever have been. You, basically, work 24 hours a day. Your 'baby radar' never goes off even when you 'sleep'. I'll have to think about that embarrassing moment. I am sure there is one.
