Have you ever?

Had one of those days where your kid doesn't want you to leave their side (because mine can't follow me around)? He just wants me to hold him, he doesn't want to go to sleep. He fights it. I put him in his bed or the swing and he just cries and cries. I can tell he needs to go to sleep not only because it's one of those cries but his eyelids keep bobbing up and down and his eyeballs keep swimming around. As I'm writing this I'm probably using the 10 minutes he's allowing me to eat lunch.

AND! Have you realized, which I'm sure you have because I have the youngest kid here, that no matter what you plan for the day or what you need to get done, rarely does it happen like that?

Oh, that's him! There goes my lunch break!

Welcome, officially, to the world of "Mommy I love you and don't want you do do anything else but hold me". So are you at the point where you feel like you can't even use the bathroom w/o being interrupted...or was that just me? Sounds like your enjoying it just the same. I love you all!

I still don't get to use the bathroom by myself. In fact, it's worse now that she can walk and talk. She runs in to the bathroom and says "Mommy on the big potty chair. Go pee pee Mommy! Mommy pottying." Then she proceeds to name all my anatomical parts. It's especially fun in a crowded public restroom. :) I've lost all my modesty in the last 2 years....

The guy who wrote the "Happiest Baby on the Block" (Dr. Harvey?) says that even if you hold your baby all day long, say 10 hrs., he use to get held for 24hrs day in the womb so it is still a jip to him. In other words, don't worry about spoiling him! Hold him hold him because soon enough he will wriggle out of your arms wanting to crawl and explore!!

Ah - just keep a good book (or movie) handy - then you have something to do while holding him. Enjoy that time!!!
